The Gate and Preservation are excited to announce the next instalment of their Sound/Light/Stone series with a special show in Sydney on January 11. The series, which establishes great lighting and music in a beautiful 1850s church, will next feature the talents of Grand Salvo, Heather Woods Broderick and Seaworthy.

The event starts at 7:30pm, with tickets selling at $17.50 plus booking fee pre-sale, or $20 on the door.

Hermitude shortlisted for The Coopers Amp Alive event in Federation Square

The Coopers Amp will be throwing a free live event in Federation Square in Melbourne this February, called ‘Coopers Alive’ Clare Bowditch and Kevin Mitchell will be hosting the event, while bands including Hermitude are slated to perform! The acts to perform alongside Hermitude are to be announced in the coming weeks, but for now, mark Coopers Alive into your diaries and make sure Federation Square is your destination in February.

Double Demento Single Launch at The Old Bar in Brisbane this January

BJ Morriszonkle and Made For Chicken By Robots toured their split 7” single in Europe in October 2012 to entertained reviews. Back home, they’ll be showing the Australian crowd what they’re capable of unleashing on the live stage! Dos Hermanos from Germany will be supporting on the night, ensuring that the party is started well and truly early.

Victorian Roller Derby League Fundraiser at Revolver Bandroom in January

Following on from their first trip to the US, the Victorian Roller Derby League All Stars became the 11th ranked team in their region. The league is a completely grassroots, non for profit organisation which needs support; on the 18th of January, they will be holding a fundraiser at the Revolver Bandroom, featuring live bands to celebrate the massive year they enjoyed in 2013. Celtic punk-rockers The Ramshackle Army, rock band City vs Country and country star Andrew Swift will be performing on the night, while the All Stars themselves will be skating around! Get in early to be a part of the prizes and give aways!

Benjamin Skepper playing two shows at MONA FOMA and the Corner Hotel

Following on from a successful tour in Italy and Japan, Benjamin Skepper has arrived in Australia for a run of shows! Along with his performance at MONA FOMA, Skepper will also be playing a special sideshow at The Corner Hotel in Melbourne later in the month. Boom Crash Opera performing at The Espy on February 15!

Legendary rockers, Boom Crash Opera will be performing at The Espy next month, best get there! Shooting to fame in the late 80s, the band produced songs which would become anthems for Australian youth all over. Undoubtedly one of the biggest names in the Australian music industry, Boom Crash Opera will be bringing their ARIA charting hits through to Melbourne for a special show next month!

Coerce announce Genome launch and hiatus!

Coerce will be launching their new record Genome in Melbourne this month, with Hoodlum Shouts and White Walls scheduled to support! The band have also announced that they will be taking a break for some time following on from this launch show, to regroup and hopefully afford to record and play some more shows again in the future. In the meantime, get along to the Gasometer and support the band one last time.

All Good Funk Alliance hitting The Espy in January!

Comprising of Frank Cueto and Rusty Belicek, All Good Funk Alliance are no strangers to funk. Long lauded by fans and critics alike, the duo look to inject flavour into their sets, meeting critical acclaim along the way. The boys have recently signed a major remix deal to put their funk-infused spin on Kraak and Smaak’s album, Plastic People. All Good Funk Alliance will be playing their signature sounds at The Espy next week and considering it’s a free event, you’d be mad to miss it!

Garry David, The Walk On By, Small Town Incident & BMX Ray at The Lansdowne

The Lansdowne will be playing host to some excellent live music later this month! Together for over a decade, Garry David are set to hit Sydney pubs once more; the five piece not having done a show in the city for almost a year. They’ll be supported by a great line up of acts, including The Walk On By and Small Town Incident from Sydney and BMX Ray from Brisbane.
